Emer has been employed at GJCRM since 2014, having worked as an archaeological consultant in Western Australia since 2012. Emer has contributed to a number of Aboriginal cultural heritage surveys in the Pilbara and the Goldfields and her roles have involved liaising with traditional indigenous land owners and proponent clients as well as identifying and recording archaeological material. In addition to her experience in carrying out surveys, Emer has also undertaken excavations in the Pilbara and in the Perth Metropolitan area. She has also authored, co-authored and edited multiple site avoidance, section 16, section 18 and salvage level heritage reports.

Emer has worked as an archaeological supervisor and professional archaeological consultant since 2003 throughout Ireland and Western Australia. She has extensive experience in all aspects of archaeological consultancy including terrestrial survey and excavation, project management, report writing and post-excavation analysis. Projects completed during these years saw Emer supervise large teams of up to 30 people.
