Matthew Walsh

Field Archaeologist

Matt is a recent graduate majoring in Archaeology and has experience assisting on a wide range of national and international archaeological projects across the Pilbara, Northern Territory, Europe and the UK.

His experience includes assisting excavations in both the United Kingdom and Spain and recording Indigenous rock art sites within Murujuga National Park, WA. Matt is also involved in the UWA Saudi Arial Archaeology Project in which satellite imagery is used to map archaeological sites and conduct heritage value assessments.

Matt jointed the GJCRM team in 2021 and has been involved in works on Rottnest Island and numerous surveys around the Pilbara. His role includes, mapping and recording archaeological sites as well as identify and record archaeological material.
